Sinds 2007 worden jaarlijks de World Whiskies Awards uitgereikt door Whisky Magazine. En ook dit jaar was dat terug het geval.
De plaats van het gebeuren? Het wel heel prestigieuze Waldorf Hilton hotel in Londen. Na het Awards Presentation Dinner waas het dan zo ver. Eerst werden de Icons of Whisky aangekondigd. Die uitreiking zet de belangrijkste brand ambassadeurs, distillery managers en andere belangrijke personen uit de whisky wereld in de bloemetjes. Daarna was het de beurt aan de echte World Whiskies Awards. We sommen de winnaars even voor jullie op :
