Scott Adamson had mij doorverwezen naar Fraser Milloy van Springbank. Blijkbaar had springbank een Local Barley botteling bij waar ik zeker meer over moest weten.
De Local Barley van Springbank is een 16 jaar oude Cask Strength whisky, gebotteld op 54.3 % ABV. De gerst die gebruik werd in deze Local Barley werd geproduceerd op 10 mijl van Campbletown. Er zijn slechts 900 flessen van de Local Barley beschikbaar (wereldwijd). De whisky bestaat uit whisky’s die voor 80% hebben gerijpt op bourbon vaten en de andere 20% op sherry vaten. De whisky werd pas 2 weken terug gebotteld en zou pas binnen 3 weken in ons land beschikbaar zijn. De prijs zal naar alle waarschijnlijkheid rond de 120 euro liggen.

Scott Adamson had referred me to Fraser Milloy from Spingbank. He tried to convince me to sing a birthday song to Fraser, but since my singing is worse than my whisky knowledge I skipped that 🙂 I was more interested in the Local Barley release from Springbank anyway.
De Local Barley is a 16 years old cask strength whisky from Springbank, bottled at 54.3 % ABV. The barley used in this single malt was farmed in an area around 10 miles from Campbletown. Only 9000 bottles of the Local Barley will be available worldwide.
The whisky itself consists of a mix of about 80% whisky’s matured in bourbon casks and about 20% matured in sherry casks. The Local Barley has been bottled about 2 weeks ago and should be available in Belgium in about 3 weeks. No exact price was given, but Fraser Milloy thought it would be about 120 euros.
