De voorlaatste Whisky Talk vanop Whisky Live Belgium. Via Juliette Buchan van Benromach kwam ik bij Céline Têtu van Compass Box terecht.
Compass Box is geen distilleerder, geen onafhankelijke bottelaar maar een blender. Wat Compass Box doet is vaten opkopen van verschillende distilleerderijen om daarmee hun eigen blend samen te stellen. Ze maken niet alleen een traditionele blend, maar ook blended malts en zelfs blended grain whisky.
Wat Compass Box doet is laten zien dat blends niet noodzakelijk minderwaardige producten zijn, maar dat daar ook verdomd lekker spul tussen zit. We hebben het verder o.a. over The Flaming Heart en This Is Not a Luxury Whisky.

We’re almost at the end of our Whisky Talks from Whisky Live Belgium. This time I’ve been refered to Céline Têtu from Compass Box.
Compass Box isn’t a distiller, nor an independent bottler, but a blender. What Compass Box does is buy casks from different distilleries and use those casks to create their own blends. Not only do they produce traditional blends, but they also produce blended malts and even blended grain whisky’s.
Compass Box clearly shows us that blends aren’t an inferior product, but that there are some really great blended whisky’s as well. We shortly also touch on the Flaming Heart series and the This is not a Luxury Whisky,
